General Information

More than 60% of each University’s ranking at Les Jeux du Commerce comes from the academic case competition. There are 10 cases (covering most business disciplines), a debate and a stock simulation team.

Cases: In teams of three and in three hours, students analyze and solve a real-world business case and prepare a 20-minute presentation. This is then presented in front of a panel of professionals and business professors and judged based on quality of analysis, recommendation, and presentation.

Debate: A team of four students acts as either the Government or the Opposition and debates an issue of Canadian political significance while following strict timing guidelines.

Stock Simulation: In a game that simulates a year on the stock exchange, teams of four students must buy and sell stocks, options, and futures. A team must correctly value stocks and react to news as it is revealed throughout the day.
