Les Jeux du commerce is an interuniversity event whose purpose is to unite university students from Eastern Canada and compete at an academic, sport and social level.

Academic

The academic part of les Jeux has tried, over the years, to be as representative as possible of the actual world of business. Having been recognized as the arch of the competition, the academic points count for 68% of each school’s final placement. The cases for the upcoming year are:

• International Business
• Entrepreneurship
• Marketing
• Human Resources Management
• MIS
• Strategy
• Ethics
• Debate
• Stock market simulation

The goals of the academic competition is to better the relationship between tomorrow’s leaders and enterprises, to create a bond within the participants, to develop initiative, encourage competition and most of all, excellence.

Sports and Social

Each social and sporting activity is chosen in order to respect the essence and the spirit of Les Jeux: Hard work and team spirit, fair play and cooperation. The students have the opportunity to demonstrate those talents through 3 sports activities and one social.

The sporting events are all held outdoors although Canadian winters are very cold - and the teams are mixed. The three sporting events at les Jeux du commerce 2009 will be:

• Volleyballl
• Ultimate Frisbee
• Water Polo

As for the social event, 2 females and 2 males must surmount 7 challenges, where the limits of the participants are tested. These people will need a lot of courage and team spirit!
